Peace, Love, Goats

Following GOA on Instagram and Facebook will fill your heart with joy, along with gratitude for Leanne, who started and runs this magnificent place for special needs goats. You will see via their posts that they also have some other very special animals, like an adorable kitten with cerebellar hypoplasia named Maddie and a spunky pig named Louie. To meet so many of the goats in person was a real treat. Our visit was filled with goat hugs and meeting cool people, delicious vegan food trucks and treats, and a swag bag full of GOA merch. Another cool aspect of the day was meeting other farm animal recuse groups from New Jersey that partner with Goats of Anarchy. It is wonderful to see such collaboration, kindness and to learn more about the work they do and the extent they all have widened our circle of compassion with people and for all animals. It was a day of inspiration and fun. Next time they have an open house, get yourself there!

Goats of Anarchy is currently not open to the public on a regular basis. We were blessed enough to score tickets to their first open house in October 2018. Tickets were limited and went fast. If you are a Patreon member (click here to find out what that is) you are first to find out about events and rescue updates. Leanne and her dedicated friends, crew and volunteers have been working on many projects since our visit in October, including a heated barn for the goats that use wheelchairs/carts so that they can have a safe and warm place to play during the winter months. Leanne has recently written a book titled “Peace, Love, Goats of Anarchy” and it is an inspirational read. She also has penned some books for children that are pretty awesome.
